3 x 12 4Ohm..
Have not really looked for any new cabinets for 7 years, so I have no clue..
What's out there?? Need to be able to handle my SVT 7Pro...
Nothing super heavy because I'm old and crumbly... Would like the size limit to be about 40" tall (max)
and about 20" wide so I can keep my same tour case...
Anything out there that will work??

Looking back, I did check out a LDS cabinet. Sized for me with 3 12's and 4 Ohms! Can't find a response for a price, but I am thinking it was around $700 which would have been fine, but I am sure something else came up.
What are your thoughts on LDS??

A 312 isnt possible at 4 Ohms with out custom ordered drivers.

Was looking into the Epifani UL310 as well. Don't know if I want to go with 10's though. Never did really like them.
Also, if I remember correctly, they said they could get me like 6Ohms, but I don't want a cabinet that isn't at 4Ohms.

Tecamp M212 47 lbs, 600 watts at 4 ohms. They also come in 8ohms. They also came down in price. $799. 39" tall. I'm old as dirt and can easily lift this cab. They also make a smaller 212 the S212 that is cheaper and lighter with the same wattage options.

As Peavey said, you cannot get a 3 speaker cabinet with 4 ohms without using custom spec'd drivers. An Epifani UL(X)-310 will be 5.7 ohms, which is essentially a 4 ohm load. Are you running a tube amp that requires a 4 ohm load? It will be fine with a 6 ohm cabinet, but it will eventually blow a power tube.

What do you not like about tens? It is not like the size determines their tonal capabilities. What kind of tone are you going for? I would recommend the Epifani, as I love mine, but it has a mid-scooped sound, is that something you want?

I am running a Ampeg SVT-7Pro. 1000w at 4Ohms. Currently working with 2 8Ohm cabinets. Schroeders. Original series before all that R and L stuff. Blue Rat fur. Absolutely love them under my SWR Bass 750. Am looking for 1 cabinet (more correct distribution of power to speaker thing) that will give me the height of my 2 Schroeders and the more modern tone from my Modulus Q5's.. It is hard to describe, but I am looking for my tone. My tone was Modulus Bassstar 5 (Bartolini p'ups and pre) George L's cable (.255) SWR Bass 750 head, Rane PE15 Parametric, Korg DTR-1 tuner, Schroeder Mini 12(no horn), Schroeder 1212 (Side throw) and a SWR Bass Monitor with the same speaker that the Schroeders use. Connected running 850w at 2.6Ohms. Ran for 11 years like that without any serious issues.. Need the power and push of a huge amp(850w+) and the speakers to handle playing 70 shows a year thrown into onto off of and around stages, back stages, vans, trailers and so on.

You can get a 4 ohm 312 this way:
Get a GK 8 ohm Neo 212. Add a GK 8 ohm Neo 112.
You'll have to be careful with power management, as you can overpower the 112.

Here's a suggestion. If you're getting older, get a GK 800 watt Micro Head and run two Neo 8ohm 2x12's or if you can handle it one of their 4x12 cabs.

It is a shame there are so little 3x12 cabs on the market because the size feels just right.
A 212 can lack the low end if it gets loud and a 412 is overkill in most situations.
I was on the prowl for such a thing about a year ago but i gave up and ordered 2 212s.
If your amp can handle less than 4 ohms, you might have a look around if someone makes a 112 with 8 ohms and a 212 with 4 ohms. Would get you a 2 ohms 312 with the additional
benefit of not having to bring the whole rig to smaller gigs. 112 for coffee house gigs and 212 for smaller stuff.

A single cab 312 at 4 ohms is not going to happen. If someone did buy special wound 12" speakers to make that load buy a spare right away. Chances are VERY slim you will get replacements if something goes wrong. Even then you are asking each 12" to handle over 300 watts without going up in smoke. Not a realistic expectation with bass guitar. REALITY time.
You would best be served buy a 412 or 810 with that kind of power, you need more voice coils to dissipate the wasted heat.

Sorry, I am in the Old Basstard club... Reality is what I want it to be (yes that is a joke), but it is what I want. 6 Ohm cabinet will not give me full operating power from my SVT. I need something that will put out the most air for what I am looking for. I do not want a 4x12.. Way to big. I can't stand 4x10's (had plenty, not one I liked) and a 8x10 just way to huge and heavy.. Don't want a 140 pound speaker cabinet.

Fair enough but realize this, the difference in electrical power from 6 ohms load to 4 ohms load is like wanting 2 more horsepower. You may climb a hill 1 mph faster, but you will have to travel for 24 hours for an additional 12 miles distance. Yes it really is that trivial, 99% of the power increase at those power levels will be waste heat you can't hear. You'll feel good about the unheard numbers though ;).
