Need Advice: srx400 x peavey dyna

I'm not familiar with either but the dyna is $250 and the srx400 is $125. Which would you buy? And Why?

Peavey. The SRX is a great bass,but IME limited in the amount of tones it can make. They all come out very aggressive and trebley.

The Dynas were surprisingly good basses for the money back when they were new; I traded some gear at a store in MS when I was on the road in the late 80's and a Dyna was part of what I received. I kept it onstage as a backup bass for a few weeks before I actually played it- I liked it enough to keep it on the road and use it about 1/3 of the time until I traded it for something else. If it hadn't been such a horrid color (some kind of teal/blue/green) I may have kept it.

Thanks for your advice. I posted yesterday asking about the srx and only got one respond, and he didn't have an srx400, but offered some advice anyway. But peavey's seems to be the hot thing at the moment. I have no idea what the dyna sounds like. There's also an Axcelerator around, that's about the same price as the dyna. But there's very little on the board about it, and it's a long drive away.

I'm starting a small collection of vintage Peavey's and a Dyna is definitely on my "want" list. It sort of reminds me of my old early 80's Ibanez Musician.
I havent owned one yet but from everything I hear, they are terrific values!

I'd get the Dynabass. I have owned a dozen Ibanez basses ( I still own 3), and really like them, but it was my neighbor's Dynabass that got me to think outside of the Fender box. The only reason I never got one was Peavey never made a lefty one.
