need advice

Did you hear that? I thought Bongo said something, but I think I was wrong. Must've been the wind.

What kind of processor? What are you looking to do? If you have to hunt for a tone you don't even know what it is yet, odds are you don't need it to begin with.

Either way, get an overdrive of some sort. Everyone needs a nice overdrive/fuzz/carpetbomber/distortion/sinewavedevastructor.

If you're looking for a multi effects I can recommend the Zoom B2 or B2.1. Well within your budget and very flexible. Multi effects have certain limitations an many people think they don't sound as good as analog effects but I'm very happy with mine. It really all depends on what you want. If you don't know go out and try things in guitar shops.

...who's Bongo? Are you on mushrooms again, nad? :p

Anyhow, back to the OP... it all depends on what you're looking for and what kind of music you play. There is no such thing as the "best processor under $200"... but there are plenty of good ones, and one might strike you as the "best" (while the rest of us may agree or disagree).

Is the "ToneWorks AX3000B Modeling Signal Processor" a good choice?

It's the most awesome thing since awesome came too Awesome town. It does everything ever. That tone in your head that you can't describe or can't even be bothered to try to explain or quantify, but you like totally want... it does it... better than you could have imagined. It's kind of like brrrr, but with the whoosh and the grrrrgswed and none of that stuff that you don't want or need or any of the stuff you mentioned. Yep, get it.

I love how there's these giant gaps of time in between mine, jetpack's, and Spanky's posts. :D

Imagine if real-life conversations were like that:

MysticBoo (8:58pm): So... what are you doing?
...
...
...
jetpackbassist (6:00am): Not much.
