Need Advice!

Greetings!
Right now im in the middle of a decision between two amps Im planning on buying.
The first one is a HATKE 3500A HEAD:

WITH THE 4.5 XL CABINET

THE OTHER OPTION IS:


MARSHALL MB450H

im getting the hartke option at $960 and the marshall option at $1020 so I need advice on which is the best option since Im not an experto in the subject and I have never tried the mrshall amp and dont think Ill get the chance until i buy it!

Id appreciate your advice!

If those are your two choices IMO I'd go with the Hartke. I've never played a Marshall bass I've liked (just my opinion). I prefer GK.

I like the marshall cab and the 2 heads i prefer the marshall one. But Hartke head is still very good. Again i would suggest try them out before buy.

I love my marshall, i can get some really good tones out of it.

the hartke 3500 is solid as a rock, ran one for about three years, never an issue.
I ran it through a VX 410 and I always felt the tone was a bit sterile. I picked up a XL410 and I liked the extra brightness it inspired.

I would go for the hartke, but I'd shop around for a better price.

Thanks everyone for the advice!! I tried them out some days ago and I think Ill go for the HARTKE option!!.. Much more brilliant tone and versatility!

Before you commit to the Hartke 4x10 try an Eden Nemesis 2x10. I also had my eye on the XL 410. About the same price.

I tried the Hartke 410, with my amp, against the Nemesis NSP 210 - the Nemesis - about half the size - blew the Hartke out of the water for tone, clarity and, surprisingly, volume. Bigger isn't necessarily better. The Nemesis may not look so macho but is a whole lot easier to move around - you name me another one-hand lift with the same performance.

I run a MIM active FJB through a Hartke 2500 (barely enough power, so the 3500 is a good option), and pair the Nemesis with a cheap Hartke VX115. For tone the setup matches rigs twice the price.

The only thing that bugs me about the Hartke amp is the 10-channel EQ - totally unnecessary. You may want to consider the Nemesis 320 head if you can stretch to it. Or maybe a Warwick PROFET 3.2 or 5.1.

+1 on the Eden suggestion. Way nicer sound and way more versatility out of that cab.

The Hartke 3500A is a workhorse. If you want an amp that works, I recommend it.
