if you like the Ampeg sound, consider the PF500 and a PF115HE cab.
It's also been said, but I'll repeat it; look into some of the "super 12" design cabs (fEarful, Baer, Thunderchild etc.) They are full range designs that will blow many multi driver (2x15 or 2x 2x10) rigs away. They do need some significant power to fully deliver the goods, but with solid power amps being pretty cheap (per watt) and the multitude of great pre's on the market, you should be able to put together a loud and light rig that will improve upon the Ampeg 450 you have today.
