I currently have my bass set up with Spirocore Solo gauge strings and I absolutely love them except for one thing. Sometimes the g string can be clanky when I play on the harder side. I want to know some other options for G strings that might sound good. I mostly play jazz with a little bit of arco playing here and there.

I just went from 3/4 Solos to 3/4 Weichs and between sets there's a noticeable but not a huge difference in the G string. Although the Weigh G does speak a little better it's not what I would look to first to solve this. I've got a Dominant Mittel on right now and it might be a little heavy for some basses but it matches up pretty well on mine. I am in need of a major setup though and once I get that done I think the Spiro Weich G will speak a whole lot better and I'll definitely go back to it to see.

If you now have the 3885W 3/4 set, then in addition to the other strings listed above, a Bel G or a (don't laugh) D'Addario Prelude G (it is a steel wrap rope core, string not nickel or other metal like most of the D'Addarios) don't have the twang, but have the sustain to match Spiros and are fairly matched in tension and flexibility.
