Need Help - Audere J3Z Install

Q1:
The diagram in the Audere show 6 wires.
I only have 5 on my MIM JB.
2 for each pickup and one for the tone knob.
There is also one white wire connecting each pot and the jack not mentioned in the instructions.

What should I do?

Q2:
My wires are yellow and black.
I am assuming the yellow wires are hot.

Q3:
Either the bridge ground (I think its the bridge ground) is connect to the tone pot. I do not seem to have a cavity ground. What should I do about this?

I was hoping to have this done tonight but withoou help it won't happen.

Please help?

tia,
Todd

I'm guessing the wire to the tone pot is the bridge ground, follow the wire back, where does it go? If your bass doesn't have a cavity ground, then you just connect the bridge ground wire to the grey/white wire on the Audere. The pickup wires go to the screw sockets as shown in the instructions, yellow should be hot in this instance, but is not always the case.

Can you get a picture of your cavity?

I'll try you suggestion because I almost have it done that way. If it doesn't work I'll make a picture and upload.

BTW: Thank you VERY much for responding so quickly.

Even without copper shielding the noise is considerably less. In general it sounds much cleaner without destroying the original tone. I'll see over the next few days how this works for me. At the moment I'm very pleased I made the change.

I have one on my Lakland and i also shielded the heck out of it and I can turn up to 11 and absolutely silent!!!!!! INSANE! The tones are awesome! Best upgrade I ever did:bassist:

Shielding is easy enough. Copper sticky backed tape works the easiest for me. Stew Mac sells a kit for something like $20 that has enough foil for 1 bass, maybe 2. It also includes a nice little instruction pamphlet, some wire and shrink wrap. You can buy all the stuff a little cheaper but the kit and the instructions is a nice way to start.
