Need help changing from Bartolini MK 1-6 to nordstrand big singles

I am one of the biggest fan of the nordstrand signature bass pickups (all of them) but I have a small problem. Currently I am using the Ibanez SR506 (6 strings) bass and personally I dont like the Bartolini pickup (Bartolini MK1-6) which is used in this bass. I wanted to change the pickups to the nordstrand big singles pickups but my problem is the dimensions are not the same. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this problem as I really want to change my pickups to nordstrand pickups. Thank you.

Had to ressurect this one. Can't find a TB answer else where.
I just got the sr506 maple neck version and I want to make it sound more warm with punchy lows like the sr1206 sounds.

Does anyone have experience upgrading the Ibanez sr506 with Nordy Nordstrand pickups or preamp????

Thanks

nope, I have SR1200 with big singles, however, I find that for me single coil sound is not something I want to use all the time. Got a GVB36 recently (same mk1) - waiting for Delanos to upgrade. p.s. I've upgraded to Flexcore in 1200.

I fitted exact- fit real US made Bartolinis in place of the budget MKs in the same bass and it sounds incredible. I also put series-single coil-parallel switches in at the same time, although series connection of the two coils is the best option if you don't wish to drill more holes in your bass. I personally don't think that Bartolini should allow their name on the budget units. A lot of Ibanez owners have never heard a real Bartolini pickup.

MK 34mmx108mm
P2 32mmx108mm

It doesn't seem much different, just 1mm per side.

Good advise about the string spacing, tho.

BigSingles can go down to a very tight spacing

Couldn't agree more.
