Need help choosing cab(s) for Kustom 1300hd

I am currently upgrading my rig. I have decided on the Kustom 1300hd amp which specs at;

1200 W @ 2 Ohms
750 W @ 4 Ohms
450 W @ 8 Ohms

I play in a 3 piece and need to have lows as well as highs. I was originally using a 4x10 and 1x15
but my original head was under-powering my cabs (unknowingly) and I blew a few speakers.
I have since been educated in the world of watts, ohms and tone.

I would like to stay under $1k

I do not prefer 8x10's as I do prefer my unbroken back.
