Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone here can shed some light on my Ibanez Soundgear bass. I’ve attached photos showing the body, neck joint/serial-number area, and the fretboard inlay. Here are the key details:
- Model: First-generation Ibanez Soundgear (SR-series)
- Serial number: F758428 (built May 1987 at Fujigen-Gakki, Japan)
- Unique feature: A “65 ANNIVERSARY” block inlay at the 24th fret, which doesn’t appear in any official Ibanez catalogs
- Original purchase: Bought new, by me, in 1987 in the Netherlands for ± ƒ1,650 (€ 800,-)
- Whether anyone has seen similar “65 ANNIVERSARY” inlays—was this a dealer or designer custom?
- Any archive resources, dealer contacts, or collector groups where I might dig deeper into production records and find more info?
