Need help looking for Silver Sparkle/flake Jazz

I’m really on the hunt for a Fender Jazz bass in silver sparkle/metal flake with no success..

there have been a few of the Fender American Designer series for sale here, but not recently, that or anything really in that color.

Besides the obvious places do you guys have any ideas where I might find one?

Long story short, my guitar player and I are trying to match our drummers killer silver sparkle Gretsch.

Do you have a Jazz already? If so, what about a re-finish?

I've never used Marty Bell's services, but I spoke with him on the phone about a possible project and he was great.

Which of your Jazzes would you re-finish?

I have a USA geddy, a 75 RI, and a mij 66 RI…might just have to buy the cheapest USA I can find and have it refinished. I want rosewood so the Geddys out..maybe the sunburst 75 RI…

For over thirty years now I have been serving our domestic and international communities with our finishing service. We have finished guitars and basses and specialty products for some of the finest musicians, writers, producers, top named artists and lets not forget the guitar builders and manufacturers.

It’s been my pleasure to finish so many many projects for all of my loyal customers, but after this many years my abilities are slowly becoming challenged by sight loss due to advancing Glaucoma. Although I’m still able to do much of the finishing process, (Thanks to my Wife) the loss of sight has caused limitations on my abilities of many aspects of this highly demanding skill.

I am therefore now in a state of semi retirement, and although still taking in some jobs, many of new job request I either will not take in, or I will refer them over to another finishing facility.

Please don’t be offended if I do not take on your request. If I don’t feel I can render you the best quality, I will do us both the best service by directing your request to another skilled facility. The website will stay up until I move into a full state of retirement, and I’m not sure how many years that will continue to be.

And I would like to say again thank you all for many years of giving me the enjoyment of making your guitar project and repairs come to life.

Yeah, I know. He has that up but still takes in limited projects. He did my gold bass after this notice. Gotta ask nice.

I've seen MJT do metalflake finishes in the past... not sure if those are part of their regular list of options. Always heard metalflake takes special gear... or that the nozzles, guns, etc. really have to be cleaned out afterward.

Those guys at MJT are great to work with and do exceptional work.

He did a great thin skin urethane Fiesta Red finish job for me nearly 10 years ago. He applied it so thin that it eventually sank into the wood grain a bit as it aged, much like nitro lacquer. With a quick turnaround, too.

Sad that he's having sight loss due to advancing Glaucoma.
