Hi,
I have a bass that I installed some older Dimarzio PUPs in. The neck is a split Pbass and the bridge is a Jbass PUP. I wired them according to the Seymor Duncan Standard P-J bass diagram. (see attached)
The pickups by themselves are great, lots of volume, but when I turn one up with the other, it does the classic "out of phase" loss of volume. I've already tried switching the hot/ground on one PUP but it didn't help.
I also have an awful buzzz when I turn up the tone pot.
The P bass PUP has a white and black wire that was soldered together and another white and black which I used for hot and ground.
The Jbass PUP has a white and black wire solder together, plus red and green wire that I used for hot and ground. (these are the ones I tried switching to cure the out of phase issue)
Does anyone have any diagnostic advice to help me solve these problems and make the PUPs work, and quiet the Tone?
Thanks!
Ray
