Need help with a finish problem

If you don’t already what type of paint it was shot with give the serial # and ask Fender. That’s the first step in trying to figure out what to do.
As a custom shop instrument hopefully it’s lacquer (so the repairs will burn into the original finish). I’m not sure if nail polishes are still lacquer or not these days. You could build up the bulk of the missing paint with auto spot filler. Get as light a colour as you can and add the nail polish over top. You might need to mix more than one bottle together to get the match as close as possible.
