So it's friday, and my "Check for Updates Automatically" for MICRO$OFT office pops up. Then my mac started going crazy. Now, even when I restart, my dock does not show up, (it's not hidden) my widgets won't work, my spaces won't work, when I click the buttons on the side of the mouse it doesn't work, neither does the F8 F9 and so on features... Looked a bit on the Apple website, couldn't find an answer..

I'm using Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) with an Intel iMac.

thanks,

Can you get to your force quit? If so check to see if it is still trying to run the microsoft update thing. This happened to me once, but it didn't stay messed up once I restarted. The only thing that I have ever had any problems with on my mac is office.

To be honest, the only software I've had problems with on my Macbook is Office 2004. Office 2008 works like a dream, so far. Hasn't crashed once while Office 2004 crashed nearly daily.

However, I'm somewhat new to the world of one-button mice, so I'm not too much help at the moment. I wish you the best with your endeavors.

Did you try restarting once you reset everything? Other than that I am out of ideas, I don't know much about computers, thus why I bought a mac.

Yup.. can't seem to minimize either...

I'll uninstall Office I guess.. and try with that

Just realized my Dock settings don't seem to work either.. Whenever I click Turn Hiding on, both Turn Hiding and Magnification come on and vice versa.
