need help with sticky stuff

ok so lets say a "friend" of mine got the bright idea to put electrical tape on his pickgaurd to see what it would look like black....

so lets say this "friend" took off the tape and now theres sticky stuff all over the pickgaurd...

my "friend" would appereciate it if someone could tell him how to get rid of the sticky tape remainder

anyway, a peek at your profile, list of owned gear, and your age... quite surprised me.. lucky boy..

back again, the oil is easiest to the finish and does the job, any thinners or acetone or ether might possibly hurt the bass paint!
