Modulation would definitely add a new sort of color that you currently lack on your pedal board. Adding some motion to your sound can be uber cool if done in moderation.
The EBS OmniChorus does chorus, flange and pitch shifting. I love mine... of all the choruses I've tried, it seems to be the most perfectly optimized for bass frequencies (i.e., gives you all the effect without sucking your bottom end out of the signal). The flange effect is not as deep as you would experience with a dedicated flanger, but again, the bass frequencies stay intact, which to my ear is critical.
If you decide to go phaser (also fun), take a look at the Subdecay Baby Quasar (small footprint, huge 4-stage phaser tone). Or wait for Subdecay to finish tweaking the Quasar Deluxe, which is an 8-stage with a feedback loop and some other cool tweaks (but definitely not a small footprint).
