I think I'm just about done with my combo's for now. I'd like to look into getting a separate system so that way at least if the head f's up, I have the cab I can reuse. Ill be doing some mild gigging with whatever I can come up with, think dive bars.
I'm in the US (29483 specifically) and I live by "go big or go home", so I wouldn't mind 1000w of power RMS, even if "I'll never use it". Minimum 500w, I'll be playing mostly classic rock and metal (the more heavy stuff). Mostly 4 string but will be venturing into Low B 5 string territory here shortly. Also if it helps, I play mostly passive P basses, with my stingray being the only active one ATM.
Locally, theres a Peavey MiniMax 600 for a good price, some Markbass stuff and an Ampeg Venture (altho with the limited play time that I've had on the RB combos, I cant say Im in love with "the Ampeg sound"). Im going to be doing the best I can to research a ton listen to online sound demos since there really isn't anywhere I can do it live near me.
Whatever I get would need to fit into a mid size sedan (I know for a fact I can fairly easily get a 410 cab in my trunk), and I would love if it wouldn't take a team of mules to move around.
I appreciate it.
Oh, and if it tells you a lot about me and my style: I have 2 Kustom rigs at the house, a 1-18 and a 6-15 setup. Definitely not going to be gigging with those anytime soon.
