Need serious help(Ashdown superfly)

I am looking into the Ashdown Superfly.

I currenly play into a Peavey TNT 115.

The ashdown superfly says it is 2x250 at 4ohms.

does this mean I can run one 4 ohm cab(say 4x10) into the head and be able to get 500W out of it?

Can I set it to give me all 500W out of ONE cabinet?

Or is it impossible to even get 500W out of the amp?

Like, I wanna know if I HAVE to have 2 cabs to get the 500W.

There is no bridging option on the Superfly. You have to have two cabinets (or, like the superfly cabinets, have sort of a two-in-one deal) to get the full 500.

AFAIK the Superfly amps have been discontinued, and replaced by the Little Giants, which are 350W and 1000W mono.

I found a new superfly for 200


and If i was to get TWO 4 ohm cabs(say each was rated at 250W) would I be able to get the full 500W?

Yeah. That works fine. I run a 4x12 and a 2x10 at gigs and its plenty loud

And do I need to change anything on the actual amp for it to work or when I plug it in it should just work?


I might just get my guitar teacher(chris from scale the summit) to ask their bassist if I could buy his old 4x10 avatar cab and then buy a Carvin 2x10 or 1x15 later myself.

Just plug in the other cab and everything will work. Also try moving the all the EQ sliders up 2 or 3 notches after you have found a happy sound. I found the eq to be weak.

I sold the ashdown lost $25 in the sale. but whatever.

I'm saving up for a Carvin head now
