Double Bass Need some clarification on setup

What differentiates an "orchestral" setup from a "jazz" setup? I asked for a jazz setup on my Shen SB-180 when I ordered it, but I've taken a real liking to arco and am leaning towards playing classical instead. I realize that I'm really new at this and probably wouldn't know the differences by looking at a bass, but I'm thinking of things to consider later on.


FWIW, I have Helicore Hybrid Mediums on it.

Talk to the guy setting it up. Tell him you want to bow and pizz. With bridge adjusters you can raise and lower the strings if necessary. You can get it setup to work for both jazz and classical. I recommend Evah Pirazzi Weich or Obligatos as good hybrid strings. Both better bowers than Heli Hybrid.
