Need some help new gear (lots of text xD)

Hello

Im a converted guitar player who decided to go all out bass, both at my band and at home...

Now i have about 700€ budget and for that i need to get myself a bass (5 string) + amp. Was thinking about new bass and used amp...
We play stuff like Pantera, Korn and Tool.

My guitarists plays on a Line 6 head that has 350W and he plays it rather loud. Now i actualy only need the amp for home and gigs (as a monitor) since we practice in alrdy equiped space.
I was told that Ashdown 5-15 (100W combo) is awesome for it's cost (less then 200€ used) and that it's loud enough for smaller gigs but im not sure if it will be loud enough compared to my guitarist (and not to mention the drumer)

Now about the bass...
I was thinking of either:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
for about 310€

or

http://www.espguitars.com/basses_d.html
for about 440€

(if u can think of something better plz say but note that guitar centers here are mostly small and so is their bass ofer)

Now obviously the LTD costs more and seems overally better but if I get it then i need to cut back on the amp (which isn't a problem if i get that 5-15 but if that amp isn't enough then i proly won't have enough for something with more juice)

So basicly i need some combinations / advices...
Thx in advance

I own an older Ibanez Soundgear 5, with a two band onboard preamp. It is a very capable instrument for most musical styles and surprisingly well built for the price range. I see tons of them on classifieds for next to nothing. I would get a used one and spend your money on the amp.

I wish I could help you, but I have no idea what kind of pricing you can expect to see in Euros. I know I got my current amplification setup (Ashdown 4x10 + Hartke HA2500) for just a bit under 500 USD, which is about 400 Euros.

Shop around, and you will find something good you can afford.
