Need some help with a refin

I recently purchased an ESP/LTD vintage-204 bass in sunburst and I'm not a huge fan of the color,I just want to strip the finish and leave it natural.

What should I use to strip the paint and what should I use to coat the body with afterwards,or could I not coat it?

here's a link to the bass to get the idea of the finish

Just be careful. You may not like what you find under the finish.

Good point. I stripped down a super cheap bass that had a similar burst- when I started stripping it, found out it was veneer on top of ugly wood. I wanted to do a translucent refin, but had to change my plans when I got to the veneer. I recommend figuring out exactly what's under the skin, and having multiple plans depending on what you find.

Good luck!
