Need some help with taking pics

Long time pro photographer here. DON'T SHOOT IN SUNLIGHT! Shoot in OPEN SHADE where the light is diffused. No direct light and no dark shadows. Cameras still are not as good as our eyes and will make shadows darker than they are. Flash is also not good as guitars are shiny and have too many reflections. Do not shoot against a white background unless you know how to override the auto exposure. the camera will try to set the exposure for the bright area and make your bass too dark.

Put the camera on a tripod if you can. or brace yourself. Put your left elbow into your ribs and have your left palm under the camera body and lens - TOTALLY supporting the camera. Then focus and shoot with your right hand. If you are supporting the camera with your right hand you will absolutely jiggle it when you press the shutter.

Do you have multiple lenses or a zoom? For best results shoot with a moderate telephoto of around 80-100mm. Too wide will cause some distortion and too long will be hard to focus nearby.
