Need some help

Hello. I'm new to bass I've been playing guitar for years but am getting into bass. I just need help getting a decent rig . I'm partial to fender and esp. But I have no idea what a good rig would be . I play mostly metal. I'm really into hardcore. I know I'm not a tech ique master or classic stylist but its what I'm into looking for a good practice rig And something that would play with a band well for rehearsal and live performance something idk in like the 200 to 300 people range. I apologize if I seem out of the loop I'm primarily a guitar player and vocalist. Thanks.

A day to remember and of mice and men and for all those sleeping are my favorites

Is there anything I need to get more of a metal tone . I just have like zero working knowledge of bass equipment I'm in love with the fender bass. But I've heard like hundreds of amp brands tossed arounfm and thanks for the quick reply

Eric, welcome ... let me wittle down your list a bit ... for starters, if you have no idea what you want or need, buy used .. in time, you will figure out what you want and/or need, and you will take a lot less of a hit when you go to move what you get now (based upon other peoples suggestions) ... you will also get a MUCH better bang for your buck buying used ... you have probably read that on here a hundred times too ..

secondly, there are not hundreds of brands of amps, that you need to be concerned about, probably about 6-10 that will all work for your needs, and that will be 'desireable mainstream' when it does come time and should you decide to move the gear on ... then it just becomes a matter of what models and what is available around your used market ... with that said, might want to fill out your profile as you are comfotable, I dont know if you are in Egypt, United Kingdom, or down the block from me ... IF in the states, we can even scan your local Craigslist and give you ideas ...

... if you want to cover 2-300 people, more info again would help ... what are you playing against for other instruments and their gear? I assume you are LOUD from your description ... do you have PA support or need to carry it all alone, etc ... and, what is your budget? I see you are young buck, so I assume you have a strong back? that may play in your favor, as some of the older heavier gear are some of best bang for the bucks these days ... heavy, non neo 410's (plural ;)) are everywhere, there are even a a few $400 range Ampeg 810's from time to time ... just an example, but the old Hartke 3500, etc type heads can be a great bang for the buck that can go cheap, sound decent, and get LOUD ... the more info you share, the more accurate your responses to YOUR situation will be, rather than hearing what everybody elses fav is for what THEY are doing ... whatever you buy, save enough money to get a few sets of earplugs ... ;) ... JMHO

I have been looking online and found several cheap p basses but for amps lol I just know elec guitars amps . I can build them lol. But I really appreciate the advice and help thanks please feel free to keep asking questions and tossing me info

If you really want a Precision bass, you might check out the Squier Classic Vibe 50s Precision on ebay with an under $300 buy-it-now price…Lake Placid Blue with black pickguard. Looks better with the replacement black guard than the stock white one, I think, and it is a Precision. Don't let the Squier name discourage you…this bass sounds great.
Put on your earphones and listen to it here. Number 9.
20 Bass Shootout - Part 1 - Bridge Finger Style:
As for getting a metal tone, plenty of effect boxes to choose from, but for $30 you can buy a Behringer V-tone and dial up something desirable with the presence, drive and blend control. There are better boxes out there but for $30 you can't go wrong.
