Need Some help.

I just received a bass that I bought a week or two ago on ebay. Its a Ventura hofner-styled bass. Everything about the bass was nice but when I plugged it in and moved around with it I got a terrible feedback noise and is I had just unplugged it and left the amp on. I used another cable and it doesnt do it as much but if you move the end of the input side of the cable it makes the same noise. With the second cable I was able to stand and play with out any noise except a slight pop if the input was touched. Its a hollowbody bass so I dont know how to get inside and look at it. Im buggin out so please help. Thanks

Should be able to take the nut off the input jack and gently pull the jack out to check for broken wire or bad solder. If this works, then make sure the jack isn't "stretched out and contacts the plug part of you cable firmly.
