Need some MIDI/sampler help please

I wasn't sure where else to post this, I hope it's in the right forum. I need a way to trigger samples while playing bass in a live setting. I want to make my own samples on my computer then put them on a sampler. What would be the easiest way to do this, and what kind of sampler should I be looking for? I'm thinking I'll just need a sampler connected to a MIDI pedalboard like Link Removed and assign each sample to a pedal. Do you have any recommendations on an affordable sampler that would meet my needs?

If you have a laptop CPU you can easily go that way.

I have a setup with my CPU for my virtual instruments.
I have a Ghost piezo/hex system driving a Roland GI20 in my CPU.
I use it to emulate the bass sounds of the covers we do ( bass synths )
My drummers trigger is plugged in my CPU and he is trigging the samples in my laptop through a software sampler.

It's a rock solid setup , never failed and very flexible.
