The IE Frantabit would be a good idea - it does different weird stuff depending on the signal you give it to chew on, and it would add some treble for your filter to play with. Another option might be the Seppuku Digital Pitch Modulator, which looks a bit mad. I've never tried one but I've been meaning to order one for a couple of years.
