Need strings for a T40

I need strings for a t40 I just picked up. I play mostly classic rocks-metal (Iron Maiden, Metallica). I have always used round wounds, GHS Boomers but I recently had my eyes opened up to flat wounds with a set of GHS precision flats on a Squier CV 50's P. I love the full bottom end, quick decay and percussive nature of flats on the CV. I also like the tension of the flats as compared to the rounds.
I want to keep the wide range of sound that the T40 can produce but I like flats. I called Jason at Bass String online and he thought that D'dario chromes or Roto 77's maybe a good choice for flats. He also said maybe try DR Low Rider nickels for a round sound with tension.
So whats everyone else running on their t40's? Anyone running flats?

I ran Chromes on mine for a long time. Neck tone on 7, bridge on 10, neck rolled off a bit, chromes was my go to staple for my church for a long time. When I was goofing off, I'm just switch the neck and the bridge tones and I was pretty happy with it.

I use daddario's on all my instruments,and I found that their standard scale bass strings wound down too early on the T-40,resulting in problems for my action and intonation.I had to instead get a set of extra long scale strings for it,and they were far from cheap.

Well I have it narrowed down to chromes or Dr Lo Rider nickels. Jason did you find that you got the sound differances when changing pick up modes with the chromes? Also I usually run 45-105 should I go a guage lighter with the dr's or chromes?
Anyone have any experience with the lo riders on a t40?

Dean Markly Blue Steels are extra long even in regular, great for string thru or complicated bridges.
