I need bass strings and do not want to waste money trying 20 brands/types. I am looking for your expert string opinions.
Here is what I have.
2016 Fender Jass (MX).
I installed Fender Pure Vintage '74 pickups.
I plug into a Mesa D-800 amp feeding 2 Epifany UL2 1x15 cabs.
My main bass is a Ric 4003S through the same set-up. I do not use effects with either bass.
As you can guess, I love that mid forward growl.
I prefer nickle rounds.
whats your best suggestion for strings for this set-up?

My biggest suggestion is the cheapest: Warwick Reds (NICKEL!). Now let me tell you the bad rep these Red Labels usually have is because of the (IME) terrible quality of the STEEL sets. These are nothing like the steel sets, they're warmer, smoother to the touch, WAY longer lasting brightness. The nickel sets are rare and most music stores won't sell them. In fact no music stores (either physical or online) sell them anywhere here in Spain. I get them from thomann for 11,60€ a set. Personally, my hands don't sweat so they last, might not be everyone's case. Still, I've had Ernie Ball and Magma (argentinian brand) strings endorsement in the past and I must say I prefer these nickel Reds over nickel Slinkys.

Thanks for all the suggestions. This cuts done the list pretty good.
From a billion options, I will try out the:
GHS Progressive and Boomer
Warick Reds
and I am adding DR low riders just because I want to try out a hex core, and I am a fan of DR.
