If I was buying new for mid-priced subs I would get either The QSC KW181 or the JBL PRX 618S-XLF.

I've not heard the PRX. I've heard the K subs and was wholly unimpressed. (I thought the K tops could have been better as well.)

Did you hear the KW subs and tops or the K series? Alot of people are not impressed with the K-sub. My band uses the older discontinued QSC HPR 181s and 151s. They work well and sound better to me than the older Mackie 1801s. I was under the impression that the KW series were pretty much the same as the HPR series except lighter and with a class D power amp.
