Need to score a multimedia slideshow, what to use?

So my bosses have asked me to put some music to a multimedia presentation they want to use as an advertizing tool. They asked me what they need to get for me.

I am not planning to score any original music so it will mainly be cutting and pasting existing songs and sound effects and mixing in a voice over.

I have asked for Acid 6 pro for mixing and looping, will I need a separate sound editor like wavelab?

What plugins for mastering should I use?

Is there a better choice for ease of mixing ( I have used older versions of acid so I am a little familiar with it)

Garageband for MAC is totally self contained and will allow you to sync music to a slide show effortlessly. For PC, not so easy. If you will be doing assignments like this on an ongoing basis, get a MAC.
iLife (including GargageBand) comes with it IMO

Actually, I was going to say something similar.

Media integration in Macs is fantastic now: Garageband, iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie HD, Keynote (similar to powerpoint, but way better IMO), etc. It is, quite literally, create, cut, paste, import, export capable and is just about seamless across the programs.

Thats great but I am a PC guy, never had the $$$ to get a mac.....
