Cheap power comes from old PA power amps. Tone from a sansamp BDDI. You should be able to get it all locally for about the same as the postage from US and no voltage problems.

Heads with higher wattage power sections often cost a lot, but used power amps are often crazy affordable and supply more potential power than you'll need. Just grab some sort of preamp that will feed it a tone that you want to dispense and you'll be able to power all sorts of different cab configurations.

Try before you buy if you can. Also make sure that the component that you use to send a signal to the power amp isn't too hot or too weak. I'm not technically hip to these different levels, but I know that it can make for occasional troubles, especially if the output of the pre, pedal, etc. is too low for the power amp to amplify well.

Hi Riddo. Try EBay . I'm in Australia. Couple of years ago I bought a Hartke 3500 300watt combo with 4x10 speakers - $500. There's always plenty there. How many watts & how many $ are you looking to part with?

Gk all the way. Picked up a 1001rb2 on CL for $350 700 watts killer tone!

Yarp. I get sick of banging my drum about how irritating the price disparity is with GK gear between here and the US.

Car in BX-500. Light, cheap, loud, tube preamp. I am not thrilled by their cabs, but love the head, especially at 2am.
