Needing a neck for an Ibanez Rick clone bass

Hello! Im new to talkbass (but ive been an avid post reader for a few years) I would just like to say that all the builds posted in the Luthier's corner have absolutely rocked! Someday soon I will attempt my first build after I can lock down a good bandsaw :)

Now for my predicament. I have a late 70's Ibanez lawsuit-era bass, it looks just like a Rickenbacker 4003. Now everything is good on it except for the neck - its pretty much trashed. The fingerboard came unglued, and my cheapness set in when i didnt buy enough clamps to reglue it :scowl: and it's pretty much useless. Is there anyone here who can build me a replacement neck? I don't know how to go about this, but I would be more than happy to pay, and I have the original neck that could be used for templates.....anyways I would love to at least try to put this cool bass back into working condition! Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If the neck pocket is smaller, you could get it modified to install a Fender neck. Just an idea, but maybe that could be done. And as Fender neck are easy to find, that would probably be cheaper to do.

If I had a Ric copy body, I would probably get one of those 'Eden' paddle head necks and scroll saw the Ric shape, drill for tuners and call it a day. If I was to spend a little (oaky, a LOT more money) I would get a Warmoth paddle head neck and pay someone to cut out the Ric shape.

This. You might have to get a little creative to mount it, but it would probably cost as much as the bass is worth to get a custom neck one-off made just for that bass.

To get a Carvin neck blank or the body MODIFIED a touch to be compatable, much less expensive.

I dunno, man. I've seen those Ric copies go for $700.00+/-. IIRC, those Carvin necks go for $159.00. Not bad, for Carvin quality.
