losing hair quick here pouring over specs...

this amp looks interesting but i have my doubts as to whether it will have enough power for trio or quartet gigs - my drummer is good, really sensitive, so this is not the main issue. i need enough sound and i really am tempted by the two 8s in this cab.

please sound off if you have any input. of course i am looking at the wm12 (played one a couple days ago and found it a little difficult to dial in my sound), and have been playing on a friends contra (which i love), but this is all that i can afford right now.

thanks in advance, all you guys on a budget know how nerve racking this can be when so much (or so little) conflicting information is out there.

I would think that this amplifier would sound nicer than the GK Backline.
But that's just my opinion. The later Ampeg 15's had a thiel box like this one, actually this is the first time I have ever seen a 2x8 box with this porting. Hopefully, you can play them side by side with you're bass and compare them. I've had a great many 2x8 cabinets and I always go
back to them for DB. Good Luck.

Just wanted to bump this back up for a minute because i bought the eden.

i LOVE it. where i had doubts that i would have enough power for our quartet (drums, bass, guitar, vocals) - i could have easily overpowered everyone if i had wanted. -

the tone is truly crystaline and the eq offers many different colors, if one should choose to color the sound. i found a little treble boost on the preamp and a little bass cut on the amp to be optimal, but i still have to experiment a little.

for the price ca.400 €, this is the very best combo i played. period

tba. - how this thing performs with a slab in a blues rock setting. have a rehearsal in an hour :)

this little baby really surprises me. it really does handle the low stuff, even my six string slab, really well at moderate volumes.

last night as we rehearsed everything was great until the cymbals started really crashing and the idiot guitarist started turning up. i found i had just enough to keep up but the low stuff started breaking up. at that high volume i couldn't use my effects (octaver and autowah) for fear of roasting the poor little amp the first time i really put it through its paces.

what this thing is good for is playing with sane musicians. you can get a really rich bassy tone if you like but my tone actually requires (normally) that i roll a little bass off of most bass amps when i am playing upright. the 8 inch spearkers make it punchy when playing slab - great resonance and highs as well - but really warm and subdued when required.

i dont know - a bit of a rant i guess - i am just happy to have a found a piece of gear that i can work with, finally.

this amp is rated at 120w at 8Ohms, and 170w at 4Ohms. there is a jack for the extra speaker cab on the rear panel.

MF says more about the amp than the homepage does:)

just can't wait till i have the money to pick up one of the more expesive models - bet they sound great.
