Neptunium? When? How’d I miss this???

I would be happy to answer any questions about it, it's still the preamp I grab most often when I'm doing any bass recording and I'm still immensely proud of it.
I know you have the power supply specs on the site, but just to be sure, should I buy the dedicated power supply, or can I just use the 1spot I use with my pedals?

In general i'm just curious about the thought/design process behind it if there's anything to say about it.

You can absolutely just use a 1Spot with it, there's no real benefit of the supplies I sell over a 1Spot, I just offer those as an option for people that don't already have a reliable supply.

My design process behind this one was basically to start with a GK solid-state preamp design and keep the EQ then throw away everything else. Then I experimented with voicing a pair of tube stages until I got something that responded in the same punchy way you would expect from a GK, but with a little extra warmth. Then it was just about stitching the tube preamp stages with the EQ in a way that made them work well together.
