That's where I'm headedDitch both, install two speakon connectors.
I'd add the Speakon jack, but I don't think that I'd eliminate the 1/4" jacks. Finding a 1/4" cable at odd hours in the middle of nowhere can sometimes be much easier to locate than a Speakon. At least keep your options open.
Quarter-inch is OK. It's what everyone used for over 50 years. I never had an issue with them for over 30 years. Speakons are better.
My Acme B-2's have a 1/4", Speakon, and banana plug connections.
Check out response # 13 for a link. It's too big to fit for me but may work for you. I ordered this one:looking on line at the various Neutrik Speakon - 1/4" combo jacks available, it seems most if not all that I see are designed to mount to a PCB board. are there ones that are made to be mounted in a cabinet just like the regular Speakon? preferably replace the regular one. if so, can someone link to them?
