My thought exactly. The TRB1006s are a ok but I think the absolute best options in the sub-$1000 range are the Korean Tune basses. Second place would be the ESP/LTD stuff. In comparison, the TRB1006s just don't stack up.

I'm pretty sure the ESP's are 16.5mm, so they're still narrower.

Actually, the TRB1005 and TRB1006 have 17mm or 18mm spacing (I forget which). The ESP/LTDs aren't much different in that regard. The older (better) TRBs had 19mm spacing.

Nope, 17mm for the trb1006, 18mm for the trb6II, trb6pII and 19mm for the trb5, trb6, trbjp, trbjpII, trb6p. They are all made in japan except the TRB1005/6 model (korea/indonesia).

I'm 99.89% sure that the spacing on the ESP/LTD basses is not that narrow. At worst it's 1mm shy of the TRB1006s.

Tons of people like the Ibanez SR506, and it seems to work quite well for people like Invalid Link Removed, but for me personally it's just too light.
I prefer heavy basses...but otherwise it's a fantastic bass.

Correct Kwesi, they both (ltd1006/trb1006) have exactly the same (17mm) string spacing. By the way, 17mm is pretty narrow for my long fingers.

On a serious note, both the Ibanez 506 and LTD B406 or B1006 are great basses for the value! Ive had experience with both the 506 and the B406, being an Ibanez guy my preference naturally went to the 506 but the LTD had better electronics but electronics are upgradeable, feel isnt.

I said usually , just played the Pedulla last saturday and it was terrific! However, let me know If you want to buy one (or more than one ) of my narrow 6 string basses......wait, I can't sell my basses here (TB rules).

I don't really like tight spacings. Not really tight at least :\ I understand that if i want to be in the 6-string thing i need to get used to tigher things, but still i have huge hands, and i would like to be able to slap and pop. I don't care if it takes time to get it , but i need my fingers to fit in there
