Hey guyz, i wanna get a new 6 string and i am really confused with all the things i hear around

The budget is about 1000 euro..

The only one i 've checked on the price is Yamaha TRB1006 and most people in here say that it ain't that good...

So any suggestions?

P.S. I don't want used!!!

For starters, i am in greece, not usa.Here there aren't many options :\
And then , i really don't trust the ebay thing How can i possibly buy a used bass that i don't know anything about???

Anyway mate, i 've made my mind about buying a used bass...

I personally have never bought a new bass and probably never will. For your price range you can get a mediocre new bass or an exceptional used one so I know which way I would go but that's just me.

I would suggest a Used Peavey Cirrus 6 off of the Talkbass classifieds such as the following. You could get it for $800 plus shipping.

My thought exactly. The TRB1006s are a ok but I think the absolute best options in the sub-$1000 range are the Korean Tune basses. Second place would be the ESP/LTD stuff. In comparison, the TRB1006s just don't stack up.

Actually, the TRB1005 and TRB1006 have 17mm or 18mm spacing (I forget which). The ESP/LTDs aren't much different in that regard. The older (better) TRBs had 19mm spacing.

I don't know if they are common in Greece but the Ibanez SR506 would be a third of your budget new in the U.S. and they are pretty well respected around here. I owned one and it was a very nice bass.

Ah, just looked again and that is correct. Ltd 1000 and 400 series are made in Korea, and the rest are fro Indonesia. My bad, i misread the info.

Scale length is only a part of the equation. There are other factors, and yes a 34" b string works just fine.
