New Aguilar cab line?

OK, this time I know for sure my DB410 has arrived and I'm going straight from work tonight to collect it. Was hoping my salary was here intime too then I would have bought the DB210 as well..............:smug:

Also will be picking up Evidence Audio cables all around as well (speaker and instrument cables), so can't wait for the test drive!

any chance for one of these in a 4x12? I would totally re-vamp my entire rig in either the black and grey or most definately chocolate thunder if you came up with a 412. (looking for a nice affordable one since my bands recording next week and I need to save money)

well i did. the gs410 was one of the contenders to go with my db750. while i loved the sound of the gs with the small aggie (500), it sounded thin and somehow anemic when hooked up with the biggie, compared to the db. it was more in the line of an eden xlt, which i also a/b´ed at the same time, but more evenly spread across the spectrum.
but for the db750, the db cab was the hands down winner.
to sum it up, it had PUNCH. especially on the low b.

thanks for the info, how would you compare the mids in both cabs?

the mids in the db series cab seem more natural to me, the overall sound is very round and fat (but not overwhelmingly fat !)
the gs mids seem more pronounced to me in the high mids, the cab sounds more "dry" and "boney" to me (does that make any sense ? :) )

p.s. btw, i play mostly pop or fusion-ish stuff. so if say punchy, it doesn´t mean bwwwahhhhhwhooommm !

Thats a great description of the GS, and this is making me want a DB!

Buy one!!!!!

Collected my DB410 last night after testing a DB410/DB210 stack in the store with an AG500 on top. Sounds fantastic! Also, the cabs are a lot more compact than the GS range (particularly the 210). I noticed a really nice improvement for tone/power in the frequencies I needed :hyper:

Only problem is, I accidentally tried out the new Japanese Ibanez Gary Willis model! Too nice..................:crying:

Think I'm gonna go back and collect the matching DB210 on saturday, which says a lot about how these cabs are as it's a two hour drive each way that I'll be doing for the second time this week!

at this weekend's DC GTG, i got to try the 750 w/ a DB210 and the DB410 in sexy chocolate.

FYI, in the room were two other players running thru the thunderfunk / epifani and epifani / epifani rigs, and the DB's CUT like a mofo. punchie in all the right frequencies, the sound just pounded even with me not touching any of the knobs!

the low end is very tight. not as boomy as a few eden cabs i've heard, and nor as low middy as the schroeder. rather had a vintage kinda tone with a nice burly kick in the middle mids, which sounded to my ear tuned up a touch higher than the schroeder. semi sweet dark yet very articulate and punchie. nothing muddy or ampeg about it.

again, if i had roadies, and i had rock to rock, i'd pick up a pair of DB410s w/ the 750 in a heartbeat.

Joker -- can you compare to the S410 and GS410? Is the sound somewhere in between, or something totally different?

And how was it for greasy, nasty, thumbstyle funk?

I'm this close to just ordering one up. I liked the GS, love the S (though its a bit quiet), and on paper the DB looks perfect for me.

the GS410 might as well be in another world. it has alot more air and detail up there. classic basscentric hifi tones we've always known from aggie, epi, eden, ebs, ea, etc. but it doesnt have the boldness of the DB410. the DB410 is just blunt brute force that oddily has that detail you wont hear in a similarly aggressive ampeg like cab.

FYI, i thought the S410 was a pretty fun and punchie cab, but the DB410 is that much bolder, fatter, and bigger sounding.

again, just my thoughts, hopefully, tommyb'll get one into the borg soon, and share his thoughts as well.

Why not a DB810? Would you say two DB410s sound better than a single DB810? And are the lows that much stronger on the GS line? I love the GS line's lows, will I miss them with the DB cabs?:help:

honestly, juuuust maybe. the GS does seem to have a broader frequency range, but i say that cause my ears playing tricks due to the fact that the DB series is bumped in the mids, which stand out more.

if you want a sound that's situated more in the lower frequency ranges, then the GS series might be for you. but if you want a middle ranged assault that'll punch, DB series.

also, i just like the versatility that a pair of 410's give me. and an 810 wont ever fit in my car. at least i can hand off one of the 410's to another bandmate's car. ;)

Forgive me for asking such a noob question, but an amp that's stable all the way down to 2OHMs can handle a 2.6OHM load right? Just wondering if this would work with the DB750? I might just get two 4OHM DB410s......:eek:
