New AMP suggestion

I am in search of a new amp at about 200w

I am looking for a clean tone cause i get my tone mostly from my pedals

I am between fender rumble 200 and ampeg rb215.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm a Mesa convert from Hartke but the Rumble 200 I've heard live on stage at gigs sounds good, Its cheap and light to carry.

*I'm assuming you want a head, not a combo amp.

Both of the models you've listed are combos, meaning they are an amp and a speaker all in one enclosure. Are you only looking at combos? Other candidates with similar features and in the same price range would be the Peavey Max 250 and Hartke KB15 (500 watts!).

You've got a typo with regards to the Ampeg: it's either a RB115 (200 watts, 1x15" speaker), or a RB210 (500 watts, 2x10" speakers). The Rumble 200 and the RB115 are the most similar to each other. Both models have their fanbases.

My recollection is that both combos are fairly clean, but the Rumble sounds a bit darker, for lack of a better term. I'm not a fan of the SGT or overdrive effects on these combos, but it sounds like you'd be relying on pedals for that anyway.

Keep in mind with all these combos you are only getting the full output when paired with an external 8 ohms cabinet. The output is about half when using only the internal speaker.
