Nice site. Put the band's name on the loading page. If it's slow, at least you have the band's name being advertised for you. It opened up in about 10 seconds for me. I have fast access and everything was working fine.

Myspace is free and easy.
If it can turn one person on to your band, then it's more than worth the effort of putting it up.
Make the site, tell and add your friends. Tell your audience at shows about it. You'll soon find your myspace growing on it's own.
Could we do without it? Of course we could.
We would just end up missing out on many potential fans that way.

and as far as Myspace goes, it's brought us more opportunities than just about any PR tool we've used before now.
It is a mess, and it's full of everything you've heard about, but it is a HECK of a promotional tool - you have to put a little time into it, but it's worth it. Don't underestimate it!

I like the overall concept, and honestly as a web designer, I can spot a few problem areas.
1. No HTML alternative. - This is a must, believe it or not, Flash is a tool that can be utilized by most but not all, as it can be a security risk.
2. Load time - Also related to Flash... it seems that all your graphics are simply that, graphics, as opposed to vectors. Proper utilization of vectors can give the same appearance, but a more fluid look at any size, zoom, etc.
3. Width and height parameters - 100% width and 100% height can look good on some resolutions, however it means the "website" is constantly changing sizes. Not all windows open maximized, therefore your website may be really small at first, putting off some visitors.
4. Mouseovers - They look great, but can be very annoying. Naturally, knowing you're the bass player, I wanted to go straight to your bio. Quickest way is a straight line, whereas the menu disappears. Moving left, then down -- in otherwords an abrupt change in motion with the mouse can deter some users.
5. Image - Probably the most important: looking at the website, I can't tell the genre of your music. Frankly, if I need to put this much effort into checking out a band, it may or may not be worth it.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the overall feel of it, but if you could utilize more html and less flash, I think we're all going to be a little bit happier.

I tried it from home tonight and it took 1 minute 36 seconds to load at 45.2 k connection and 4.5 compression. It still looks great and must be much faster than it was last week when it took that long to load using a broadband connection. Hey SnoMan, when I met my wife she owned 100 acres outside of Glenville. Beautiful state, but too close to the "Bright Lights, Big City" (to quote Jimmy Reed) of D.C. for me.
I like the look. But I would loose the scrolling "upcoming gigs" line. I would just leave it static on the home page. Or put it in the news and have the news as the home page.
