New bass build coming.

Greetings fellow bassists.
I have decided to build another bass, I've based the design off a baum bass. I'm going for 2 pickups this time. I spent a couple of hours making the body template and will finish the neck template tomorrow. For the body I will be using black limba with an exotic bookmatched top. For the neck I will be using flame maple with a ziricote fretboard. Not sure on pickups yet, hoping for a bit of advice, and no idea of hardware, but I like black hardware.
I am also looking for advice on the best truss rod. It will be 34 inch scale.
I've enclosed some photos and will update as I go.
Thanks for looking.

Cool bodyshape, and I like your headstock better than the one in the pic for it.

As for pickups and hardware, are you looking for something like what Baum uses or are you just copying the body outline?
I'm probably going with black hardware again.regarding pickups. I'm not sure yet. I just want to get a great bass tone. Do you have any suggestions?

What number bass is this you're building? I am just getting started on my first build, something I've wanted to do for a while but lacked the courage to start. I don't know much about pickups and hardware, as I am just learning myself, but I have decided I want two EMG 45HZ pickups (I'm building a 6 string). I will be watching your progress eagerly!

This is my 2nd bass, but I've built about 5 guitars previously.

Baum was a big inspiration for the build I'm currently working on too: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/rick-inspired-build.1664898/

I used a Bitterroot truss rod. Seems like a functional and affordable choice. I've built a few basses with bolted on necks. This project was my first neck build.
Very nice, I asked baum permission to build a copy. But they told me no. But I'm still building it as its for personal use. I'm using a spoke wheel truss rod for the first time.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is going to consent to a copy. Are you really trying to copy it? Or are you using it as inspiration for your own design? You've moved the truss rod access and reshaped the headstock. That's a lot of change already.

Baum clearly took some inspiration from Rickenbacker. Do the same and take some inspiration from Baum. But don't try to copy their design. Make it your own.
