New bass coming my way... modification questions!

Hey, Y'all... so it seems I'm about to be the fourth owner of a beautiful Jazz Bass that was first advertised here on TalkBass some years ago...

SOLD - FENDER JAPAN jazz bass 65 Reissue

...I picked it up off of Reverb.com; where the seller warned me that the neck is VERY thin. I decided to take my chances, and give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, she'll go back on the block.

That said, if it DOES work out, I plan to modify the bass to my preferred aesthetic: adding covers, thumb rest, mint guard, and lollipop tuners.

So, a few questions...

First off, regarding the pick guard... it seems this is always the struggle with CIJ and MIJ basses (of which I've owned a few, but never switched out the guards)... none of the guards that can be acquired here are likely to fit this bass (0r so I'm told). What's the move here? Take a tracing and send it to someone who'll make what I want? Or, try a place like MIJGuitars?

Has anyone ever purchased from this entity? Are they any good? Reliable? Accurate? Thoughts?

As for the tuners... I know that Gotoh made a set of paddles that look good... I just don't know if these will fit on this bass.

I guess I'm not going to know until I get the bass... I suppose I have to find someone who can help me determine if they'll work. Not sure who to go to, as my local luthier just left Berkeley, CA for Ashville, NC.

Any thoughts at all? ...and, thanks so much, TB Fam!

UPDATE!!! ...I found a thread on TB where a bass just like my bass-to-be has Hipshots installed. Needless to say, I'll be reaching out to the seller (who did the mods), to see what he knows about the sizing! More to come!
Here's the original thread:

In the link, you'll see that the seller says "I replaced the stock tuners with a set of Hipshot Lollypop Tuners that were period correct some of the 65-66 Jazz Bass during the transition period." So, I'm going to look into this and see what the sizing was...
