Who here has compared the new Vintage Probucker pickups to the Gibson T-Bird ceramic PU's?

I personally think the pickups in the Epi Vintage Pro are MUCH better than the current Gibsons. The Epis have a bit more bite and snarl. The Gibsons are darker (I would even say duller/muddier). YMMV.

(btw I'm not saying the Probucker are BRIGHT, they are still on the darker side of things, just not quite as dark as the Gibson USA pickups).

This will upset many of you, but I bought an Epiphone PRO. I have a lot of old vintage Gibson Thunderbirds & I actually prefer the 70's ones with the 3 point bridges.
I haven't joined the Thunderbird club - cause they'd hate that!

Plenty of people despise the three point and I am one lol. The Thunderbird club is a tolerant lot, some even sing the praises of the three point so please join us............there is the initiation though

Congrats on your new T-bird. I sold a Gibson T-bird and replaced it with an Epi Vintage PRO. No regrets. If GodofThunder59 endorses it, you know it's a winner. One thing I didn't realize was how big this bass is due to the longer headstock.

Yes I think the Probuckers on my Embassy Pro are great. Deep but plenty of detail.

Very cool and nice classic Peavey setup too.

The Peavey is also long gone, but it was a great rig. I added a 2x10 cabinet to the 1x15 and it sounded great.
