My new Rickenbacker 4004Cii. The finish was offically listed as Trans Blue, but the general consensus was that it faded to purple from sitting near the dealer's front shop window for several weeks. Due to the "off" color, I got it for a great price, but since I already owned a Mapleglo 4004Cii, the main reason I wanted this one is because it was purple. Plays & sounds fantastic. Enjoy.

Thanks RickenBoogie. I had a feeling you would dig this one as well!
It looks even better when its sitting next to my Mapleglo 4004Cii!

+1 on your description of the 4004Cii's sound. I've heard some folks (not me!) complain that the 4003 basses sometimes sound too thin, but nobody has ever said that about a 4004Cii!

The 4004 Bass = Rickenbacker's "Secret Weapon"! :bassist:

Interesting color. Is it the same on the back? Or is it the original blue? If it's light damage it faded very evenly.

Yes, it's the same color all over, very even, with just a slight bit darker shading on the peghead. It's uncanny how the finish faded so evenly across the entire instrument. It is a very hard color to photograph, and pictures do not do it justice - she is a stunner when viewed in person.

Wow ... purple burst ... cool ... I thought you just had a color shift in your camera.

Those 4004 basses sound really cool with single coil high gains or toasters and stacked knobs (2 volume and 2 tone controls)
