And, for the record, my previous response about the 4004 circuit was just passing on what I remember reading re: the circuit, not a defense for Ric. And I'm in no way a fan boy, or else I'd still own all 7 Ric basses that I have had, ( and both Ric guitars), instead of hanging on to only my Cheyenne, (which I do love, stock), but play my Dlx P much more. No Kool-aide here.
No need to apologize ... Perhaps I was too aggressive with my fan boy comments ...
The toggle - volume - tone circuit is clear and loud ... but I always want to blend the pickups ... hence my preference for a 2 volume wiring.
You can also wire a bass with just a volume control ... that will be clear and loud ... but most of us prefer more tone control.
