This bass was on consignment at St. Louis Strings when I went in for a little work on another bass. Now it's mine! I'm going to keep two and sell one, but I'll wait until the economy gets better (who knows when that will be?).

It plays very nicely and is loud and balanced, strung with Evah Pirazzi weich.

So - how many basses have you brought home over the past 12 months? You sure like to play the field!

This new one looks sweet. The lines strike me as very elegant - the sloping shoulders and the shallow appearing upper depth w/ the flatback.

Fully carved? Nice grain on the ribs. Let's see a shot of the back. And the scroll/tuners. And maybe lose the photobomber! ;)

AGCurry - trying to singlehandedly keep the upright economy humming in these challenging times! :D

Let's see ...
traded my first carved bass for a 7/8
traded the 7/8 for a 3/4
traded the plywood bass for a carved bass
bought the latest bass Wednesday

so that's four, but three of 'em were trades.

It's probably hard to tell from the photos, but it's not a flatback.

Yes, fully carved. The "nice grain" on the ribs and back are, I believe, painting technique; the grain of the ribs actually runs vertically. That's okay with me. The photobomber ... well, when you have mirrors ...

Yeah - I try to avoid them. Even moreso in these days of COVID than before.

I REALLY like the shape of that upper half. Is that a name for that "style"?

OK - he set the bar. Have any of you non-luthiers brought home more than 4 basses for your personal use over the past year? ;)

I don't know of a name. I just call it "slope-shouldered." I actually don't care for the look (not very manly;)), but it makes thumb position easier.

I never thought I'd be guilty of conspicuous consumption, but there it is. At least it's not clothes, cars, boats, or gigantic televisions.

Mmh, i took 10 basses home in 20 years. After trades and everything, there are 4 left.
I teached my luthiers daughter for 12 years, so my trades were under a good star. I also had great luck with the value going up, so it was not so expensive as you might think.
