Picked this 2006 Diamond Anniversary Fender P yesterday. Really happy with it. I think it has some d’adds rip flatwounds… has the blue fabric on the ends. Will prob leave those on for now. But definitely keeping flats on it either way.

Op-Beautiful bass, Congrats! I had an American Standard J bass, that had through-body bridge stringing, and really loved that feature.
I had it strung with D’add Chromes, which I think is what you have. They sounded great on that bass, less clangy than on other basses I’d had them on.

Looks great for 18 years old! Enjoy it!

Just got a new Silverburst P myself from the Mod Shop and can’t put it down. I was strictly a J guy for 30 years, which made some sense for all the funk and slap I was playing, but now that my current project is more garage and punk oriented, the P is so, so choice.

Enjoy, she’s a beauty! I don’t think you can have a more timeless, iconic bass guitar than a sunburst P.
