No, the general consensus is that playing the bassline isn't 1/4 of a project because usually all you're doing is playing chord forms around changes someone else wrote. Do you think Chuck Rainey gets a full band member cut for this?
In case you do, I'll let you know that it's likely he has no percentage. Maybe if they were feeling generous, they gave him a point. Probably not. He likely got a fee for his studio work, and walked away happy. Because that's how this works. He's on record saying they had no charts when he walked into that studio. He made it all up, because that's the job.
Was anyone getting paid for any of this work with the band you were in? If not, you have nothing to complain about. Unless of course you originated the actual chord changes and melody, in which case you could sue them for some percentage of the zero dollars they're likely making on it.
