New bass, stack, everything!

Well up till now ive been using my friends crappy old ibanez gsr 204 (or whatever equivalent of it was.. he paid $240 for it new like.. 10 years ago. hes a guitar player.. just bought it to mess around with) It had action you could drive a bus under, one of the pickups was busted and the 1/4 in jack required fiddling to get it to even work right.

Well I saved $1200 to buy myself a "setup" over the last year (im in college.. it takes a while. i had to sell a bunch of stuff to save that too :P I'd save $600 then spend $400 on books! ><)

but alas my hardwork has paid off!

i got a used warwick corvette std. in near perfect condition for $700 including shipping, gig bag, extra set of string, etc about two weeks ago.

Then, today on the Prez day sale at GC i got a Acoustic B200h for $150 and an Acoustic B410 cab for $230 NEW!

then i got the MXR M-80 for $80 shipped in mint condition. Woot!

So, i stayed UNDER my $1200 budget, with a total of $1160! The corvette woulda been $1400 new and the stack $550! and the MXR $140 (totalling $2090)

Lets say i wont be able to upgrade (or need to!) for a long time :]

I'm the happiest (and loudest) kid on campus :D

BTW i dont keep the bass next to the window/heater, its just there for the picture ;)

Nice! yeah i really wanted to get my first cab/head combo new for the warranty and whatnot, dont have funds to replace a buggered out used cab, ya know?

i love the tone on these. I played around with ampegs, line6, GK, behringer (yuck), peavy, and acoustic and i just loved the acoustic tone. They feel like they're made really solid too. and for a lot less than most of the others too :P

the only ones i liked more were peavy (very close, price was a huge difference though) and Markbass (way outta my $$$ range)

Man your room is huge. Of course my view is skewed since I have a room I'm pretty sure is a single converted to a double. I have to keep my big rig in the closet, luckily I have my mini rig under my desk. Also lucky for me it serves as an awesome music system, as long as the music isn't actually in stereo.

Actually, I have one. And despite all the bad reviews, I fill up an entire gym full of sound every weekend with one and no problems. People actually love the sound rather the the gorgeous looks of my BTB (and yes, I'm talking about musicians as well as non-musicians). I think the prob is that it is VERY sensitive to active electronics. The BTB305 preamp is weak when used with other amps such as the schools ampeg, but an 1/8 a turn and gain/vol on the amp set at 3 fills the gym. So, when some kid gets a behringer and expects to push it to 10, well then, I suppose it would catch fire.

BTW, I freakin love the nirvana black finish. I just got an all black Ibanez SR305 today (not the crappy gsr line, I know what you mean, I'm actually playing my gsr ATM LOL).

yeah 87 sounds right i remember mine was like 88 , i am 20 and skinny it sucks packing it out of the van and up stairs to shows and stuff but its do-able. In my band we have a rule of pack your own stuff , but if someone grabs the other end it will be super easy. its just an awkward weight to carry yourself.
