New bass . Suggestions ?

My budget is just a little over 1000 usd
Right now I'm between a new
MIM standard p bass
Or a Reggie Hamilton jazz bass if it's under 1.1k for knew .
I'm not to sure about fender cause their the most popular brand( I think ) and I'm sure they over price their **** so any of you know a good bass for around my budget ? no second hands that are around my budget please . Thanks
